Davis Spaid started in the industry co-founding Security & Firearms Training Academy with his brother over a decade ago. While running the day to day operations of the business Spaid also began instructing courses on security training and proper tactics per CA BSIS regulations. Spaid mentored under two of the most decorated and respected instructors in the industry, Dr. Steve Caballero and Patrick Alexander. After a few years of running SAFTA operations and often instructing Spaid decided to learn from personal experience beyond the security side work and instruction. Spaid joined the Sacramento Sheriff's Academy and worked full time while doing the 10 month academy 4-6 days a week. Leading into graduation Spaid was offered and accepted a position as a Police officer with South Lake Tahoe Police Department. Working for a smaller agency allowed Spaid to gain experience quickly working cases of all types and alongside the different special units. Spaid completed his goals in the public sector and returned full time to SAFTA to take the new found knowledge and experience to help others gain access into the industry.
